Our eco-friendly natural wallcoverings are hand-crafted by skilled weavers using sustainable, renewable plant fibers such as agave, jute, and hemp.
The fibers are harvested and sun-dried, to maintain a low energy production process.
The raw materials are bundled, dipped, and dyed by hand, using water-based vegetable dye.
This human touch, coupled with the natural fibers, allows for subtle distinctions in every dye lot.
The dyed fibers for our sisal, jute and arrowroot grasscloths are hand-crafted by skilled artisans on non-mechanized looms.
Warp threads, winding on the loom, form the netting that holds the natural fibers in place.
The weaving together of the threads and natural fibers creates grasscloth’s hallmark textural dimension.
The grasscloth is then backed with chemical-free, VOC-free, biodegradable paper.
In keeping with our desire to minimize our environmental impact, our grasscloth is completely biodegradable at the end of its life cycle.
